Retro design – design concept

› The synthetic leather cover with its centered, blazon-like logo is supposed to be associated with historical book covers such as bibles. Within the logo, the different styles' characteristics are bundled and thrown back into time in waves and revivals. The design uses contrasting elements: constructive elements are combined with ornamental and playful ones.

› By reducing the cover's colors to red, white, and black, a clearness and distinctiveness is generated that resembles the features of political and striking styles such as constructivism and Swiss School. The color combination also reflects the highly emotional and controversial aspect of retro design.
